When I launched Atlas Insights in the middle of January 2017, I wasn’t sure what the uptake would be on a new mobile business intelligence solution in the marketplace. Tableau has a lite client, Microsoft has PowerBI client for its dashboards, but would an entrant be worthy enough to jump into the mix?
After 7 months, Atlas Insights just broke a major milestone of over 500 installs! That is pretty amazing considering we don’t have the budget that Tableau and Microsoft can spend to build a brand. The goal was “not to be the first to the market with a product, just make it the better than the rest”. Atlas Insights is completely different because we focus on a mobile-1st experience with actionable data, first and foremost, while other makes you wade through a sea of dashboards trying to figure out what each chart means.
That’s a powerful statement. Just how long do you spend staring at a dashboard trying to figure out what it means and what you can to do with it? Too long.
Atlas Insights – “Turn it on and know what is going on.”

On some days, building an app is much easier than picking a brand and logo. But I think we nailed it with this logo. The top of the E being made into the back of the horse is perfect. What do you think?
There many emotions that you experience when building an app. Finalizing a logo and brand is dreadful because there is no going back. Sometimes picking colors and fonts for the UI/UX is the most painful and time consuming. But coding the features and functions is easy and gives you a great feeling as it comes together. http://www.EquestrianApp.com #watchthejourney #horse #startup
One of the first apps I created was right after I graduated from college when I created “Assistant Basketball Coach”, which allowed coaches to capture the statistics of the game into a database for analysis and reporting during and after the game. It was probably one of the most fun applications that I ever created because it was a niche app that focused on a primary passion I enjoyed. The software was used by thousands of coaches around the world at its peak, until I sold that business in 1998. After that, I was onto creating and selling enterprise software for years which was a lot of fun, but can also be quite unfulfilling.
Now, fast forward several years. I’ve had an opportunity to “go back to the farm” if you will, and added a few horses to my property. In learning and working with these horses, I’ve found that the community of equestrians out there, do not have a system or app that allows them to connect everyone in the care and enjoyment of these wonderful equine animals. After several months of research and visiting a lot of horse owners, boarders, leaser’s, trainers, vets and more, I believe I found my next app adventure. I hope you tag along with the adventure.
I will blog on the design, development and beta testing through this medium and also at http://EquestrianApp.com
This opportunity doesn’t come along often in your career. I’m selling the IP and business of Atlas Insights (www.AtlasBI.com). I’ve already received a couple offers several months ago, but I wasn’t ready yet as I was just getting started. I love creating software and am beginning to design my next app and I think the opportunity to put the Atlas Insights business and IP into the right hands is now.
That’s right, I’m selling all the IP associated and customer database with it as I’m looking for the right business/persons to take it to the next level. Do you have a business intelligence solution and no mobilebi option, now you do. Have an AI platform and need to distribute data out to thousands of people, now you do. Have a line of business application that needs to get data out to a lot of people, now you do.
Atlas Insights supports the iOS, OSX, Android, Windows and Web platforms. You can’t rebuild this solution and beat your competitors quicker than acquiring this business.
If you EVER wanted to jump into the mobile app space with the right idea, you’ve come to the right place. Please contact me here or on LinkedIn and grab it before someone else does.
PS: Nothing is FREE, so don’t even bother asking. :o)
How many if you arrived at work today and the first thing you did was open your browser to browse to an intranet site to see your company dashboards? Probably less than 1% of you did. And then, you drilled and sliced and filtered to find your data. How long did that take you? Probably more than 15 to 30 minutes. After a while you probably gave up. Am I correct?
It is time to throw out the old paradigm of looking at dashboards for company insights and just pull out your phone and quickly, and we mean within seconds, get to the most important data that you and your company cares about.
Atlas Insights is the most effective way to get your most important company metrics out to your employees anywhere they might be in this busy world.
You can download Atlas Insights for iOS, OSX, Android, Windows and Web and take it for a 90-day test drive for FREE without ANY sales person bugging you.
In my years of software development, FREE software has always been kind of a misnomer. How can you make money on FREE software that doesn’t have ads in it? I just hate ads in apps. Well, I’m giving my Plus One Social software away for FREE! There are no ads and no limits. Enjoy the software and be amazed at the social insights you’ll discover using this app.
Why do it? Well, I found that most users just want the software for free but they are happy to pay for the enhanced work books for Excel and Tableau. There are some great reports right within the app, but if you want to download the data and see deeper insights in Excel and Tableau, we can get you there quickly and painlessly.
