I’ve been helping out a buddy create a social media dashboard for a bunch of retailers he visits. Since the Twitter Analytics for Excel ran out of support, he needed another option and asked for some help.
I utilized Plus One Social to pull the data. This program allows you to search on keywords and then places the data into a desktop database.
Then using PowerPivot, I created a self-serve BI model for the end-user to create their own dashboards.
Then I just easily created some pretty cool looking dashboards. I think the hardest part of doing it in Excel is just getting everything to line up and look appropriate. But I think I nailed it. Comments?
