Federal Reserve release of Primary Dealer Credit Facility data and now in Microsoft PowerPivot!

You got to love data and boy does the Federal Reserve keep a lot of it even though they don’t like to give it out.  Maybe the Federal Reserve should use Microsoft Excel 2010 and PowerPivot to do the analysis and reporting on their loan data.   The scary thing about this data is that these numbers are in MILLIONS.

So a bank like Citigroup received loans for over $1.7 Trillion dollars.   But that was Citigroup in the United States.  Plus we loaned Citigroup London over $263 billion!   WOW!!!   Plus the banks get the money for a 1/4 of a percent and then loan it to you and me for 6+ percent.   Really, what risk do they have?

Anyway, you can download this PowerPivot spreadsheet from me, but you need to have Microsoft Excel 2010 and PowerPivot installed.

Enjoy, Patrick
