Exporting Scorecards to SQL Server Reporting Services 2005

I was using BSM for a new project that was a clean installation of SQL Server 2005.   I noticed that the BSM SQL Report Export option does not install by default.  So if you go to export and report, the export works, but you cannot render the report.  If that happens, re-run the BSM server setup and go into the options and install the SQL Server Reporting Services export option.

If that doesn’t work, I took this from Ian’s blog that might help.

When exporting to SQL Reporting Service, why do I find the error “An attempt has been made to use a data extension ‘ScorecardDPE’ that is not registered for this report server”?

Suggestions:

a) Install the Scorecard Manager Reporting Services Export feature (part of the BSM Server.msi custom installation)

b) When trying to install the SSRS Export module, the BSM Server setup looks for the ‘DEFAULT’ instance of SSRS on the box. If SQL Server 2005 was installed as the named instance, the setup of the SSRS export module fails. The options are:

1. Reinstall RS 2005 as the default instance and install the module.

2. Install RS 2000 as the default instance, install the SSRS Export module and then manually configure the

      ReportServer and Report Designer settings for the SSRS 2005 instance by doing the following:

2.1 Copy the Microsoft.PerformanceManagement.Scorecards.DPE.dll into the

          \Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin directory

2.2 Add the following entry to the end of the code groups section in the RSReportServer.config (\ProgramFiles\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\ReportingServices\ReportServer\RSReportServer.config) file:

<CodeGroup class=”UnionCodeGroup” version=”1″ PermissionSetName=”FullTrust” Name=”ScorecardDPEGroup” Description=”This

code group grants the Business Scorecard Manager DPE code full trust.”><IMembershipCondition class=”StrongNameMembershipCondition” version=”1″ PublicKeyBlob=”00240000048000009400000006020000002400005253413100040000010001004fa9512e2d0f41dbb2137ad77fe1a30ebf1227c63

</CodeGroup>

2.3 Add the following entry to the rssrvpolicy.config file (\ProgramFiles\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\ReportingServices\ReportServer\rssrvpolicy.config) to the <Data> section.

<Extension Name=”ScorecardDPE” Type=”Microsoft.PerformanceManagement.Scorecards.DPE.BpmConnection, Microsoft.PerformanceManagement.Scorecards.DPE”/>)

Now set up the report designer part:

2.4 Copy the Microsoft.PerformanceManagement.Scorecards.DPE.dll into the \Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common  7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\ directory

2.5 Add the following entry to the end of the code groups section in the rspreviewpolicy.config (\ProgramFiles\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common 7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\rspreviewpolicy.config) file:

<CodeGroup class=”UnionCodeGroup” version=”1″ PermissionSetName=”FullTrust” Name=”ScorecardDPEGroup” Description=”This

code group grants the Business Scorecard Manager DPE code full trust.”><IMembershipCondition

class=”StrongNameMembershipCondition” version=”1″

</CodeGroup>

2.6 Add the following entry to the rsreportdesigner.config file (\ProgramFiles\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common 7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\rsreportdesigner.config) to the <Data> section.

<Extension Name=”ScorecardDPE” Type=”Microsoft.PerformanceManagement.Scorecards.DPE.BpmConnection, Microsoft.PerformanceManagement.Scorecards.DPE”/>
