Day #4 Where in the world are Patrick Husting and PUSHBI? #PUSHBI #PatrickHusting #Whereintheworld #bonappetit

Our CEO, Patrick Husting, is on a European Vacation with his family and PUSHBI is hitching a ride.  Watch our captain, Patrick, keep tabs on us while enjoying the dynamics of international travel!

Captain’s log. Stardate European Vacation 06.14.2013.   After a wonderful slumber I am enjoying an early breakfast while my bride and boys continue to sleep.  Over figs, croissants, and coffee – I am checking in with my team via PUSHBI.  Everything looks as to be expected, but I noticed some spikes within the metrics that I’m closely monitoring.  A cool feature for PUSHBI, I have been able to have an IM conversation (within PUSHBI itself) with my executive team and after a quick sync we were able to determine that the spike was good news and it showed us mid-month already hitting some target goals.  With that, I think I’ll have another croissant and watch the town-square wake up this morning.

Bon Appetit, Patrick

Do you know? – Day #4 : What is the legal drinking age in England?
(And Day#3′s answer:  The Treaty of Versailles, ending World War I, was signed in the Hall of Mirrors.)

Captain’s log. Stardate European Vacation 06.13.2013.   PushBI and I have been networking with the locals.  Great to see that most of the locals we meet are captivated and quite speechless with the technology they see.

Do you know? What was the most important modern day event that took place at Versailles?  (I’ll reveal the answer tomorrow).

Captain’s log. Stardate European Vacation 06.11.2013.   After making the (twice) trek to SeaTac with my beautiful wife, 4 boys and PUSHBI  - we checked-in and are on our way. Using our own solution, PUSHBI, I was able to review my customized dashboard with my company information before I took-off  “across the pond.”  PUSHBI is my travel buddy delivering real-time data when and wherever I am.

Captain’s log. Stardate European Vacation 06.12.2013.   After our adventure traveling from Washington, USA we have arrived in Paris, France.  Adjusting to the time change, we’re forcing ourselves to stay awake by enjoying the beautiful sights of Paris.  And don’t you fret, PushBI is with me and I’m still happy to report I’ve already reviewed my metrics – keep up the good work team!  Pretty amazing – from anywhere in Paris, on any device and at any time (to be honest, when my Bride says it’s ok!).

Business Intelligence in the Boardroom with WorkPlace for Windows. Yeah, we got that.

We did a quick project for one of our customers bringing our mobile business intelligence solutions right into the boardroom.   We utilized our WorkPlace for Windows client and projected it on 6 different large screens in the boardroom.   All the screens are touch enabled which allows you to use these oversized iPads, but Windows based, by all the executives into a very interactive discussion.  VERY powerful.

You can also watch a video on our WorkPlace for Windows client on YouTube.

Enjoy,

Patrick

WINNER! PowerPivot Data Mash-up Contest

Aaron Meyers, BI Consultant here at Extended Results has placed 2nd in the PowerPivot Data Mash-up, earning him a total of $2,000. Not bad for only a couple hours of work!  We would like to congratulate him on his big win.  We are truly fortunate to have the best BI consultants on our team, and it sure feels good to be rewarded for all of that hard work at the end of the day.

Below is an example of Aaron’s dashboard.  As you can see, it combines crime, unemployment rates and education stats; and lets you effortlessly compare data by year, region and type.  You can even drill-down into one or more specific categories for a visual histogram analysis.  Very cool tool!  Great job, Aaron!

Business Intelligence for Healthcare

imageWe have been busy building out some new dashboards for a healthcare firm and I thought I would share some of the work.  We have been working with a couple healthcare organizations recently and the reporting they have had in the past has been really plain.  Basically just grids of data and maybe a bar chart or a line chart thrown in.   We have been working on some concepts for dashboards that allow you to quickly glance and get a perspective quickly of the demographics of the hospital.  I believe the babies born and the patients in the different departments are very interesting examples of quick-glance dashboards.

Enjoy the dashboards, let me know what you think.
